UK Chief Commissioner flies into Loughborough
13/02/11
"Wayne Bulpitt, the Scout Association Chief Commissioner for the UK with responsibility for leading our 500,000 strong movement, flew into East Midlands Airport this weekend to visit Loughborough District Scouts on Sunday 13 February 2011. He was invited by The District Commissioner, Colin Laws, to hold a seminar to inspire and motivate over 50 local Scouting Managers and front line volunteers. During the two hour workshop, held at the Scouts local campsite ‘The Oaks’, discussions ranged from Leading and Managing roles and responsibilities with our Movement, Training our Volunteers and how we can become an even more Diverse Movement. We were then joined by some of our front line volunteers for lunch where Wayne and Colin continued the discussions and hopefully left a very committed group of volunteers inspired and motivated to lead Scouting forwards to its 2018 vision for all young people. Wanye Bulpitt and the Chief Scout Bear Grylls are the most Senior Volunteers in the Scout Association so as you can imagine it was an absolute privilege to host Wayne and have him lead a debate on Scouting in our District.
